Wolverhampton Wanderers are still seeking their first league win. Despite this, new head coach Rob Edwards has praised Tolu Arokodare. This commendation followed the club’s recent defeat to Crystal Palace.
Edwards recently took charge. He replaced Vitor Pereira, whose tenure yielded only two points from eleven league games. Saturday marked Edwards’ first Premier League match at Molineux. Though the result was disappointing, Arokodare’s performance encouraged him.
The Welsh coach paired Tolu Arokodare with Jørgen Strand Larsen. This move aimed to energize Wolves’ attack. While the duo didn’t score, Arokodare’s effort and presence stood out. Edwards noticed his hard work throughout the game.
“Tolu has performed really well this week,” Edwards stated in comments released by the club. “I’ve been impressed by him. He worked extremely hard today.” The coach added, “We will see more from him as he gets fitter. He isn’t at full power yet. I don’t think he’s completely settled, but he gave a very strong effort for his hour on the pitch.”
Edwards believes a promising partnership is forming. He remarked, “I think they will be very difficult opponents.” “I anticipate more great things from him,” Edwards continued. “I believe he trusts our strategy. If we get them fully integrated, no one will want to face those two.”
Wolves’ poor start is now a Premier League record. They have secured only two points from twelve matches. Despite this challenging period, Arokodare remains optimistic. He believes the team can still improve their fortunes.
