The Rivers State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This decision was made on Wednesday during the 37th Legislative Sitting. Lawmakers commended President Tinubu’s leadership style. They also recognized his significant contributions to the development of Rivers State.
All 26 members of the House jointly signed the motion for the confidence vote. They highlighted the President’s dedication to inclusive governance. This was particularly evident through the appointment of several Rivers indigenes to key federal positions.
Lawmakers Applaud Tinubu’s Impact
Leading the debate, Hon. Major Jack, the House Leader, praised President Tinubu. He credited the President for sustaining policies that have brought economic benefits. These benefits extend to both Rivers State and its local governments.
Jack described President Tinubu’s leadership as “fatherly.” He noted that ongoing federal projects and strategic appointments are already making a positive impact. These efforts are benefiting communities across Rivers State.
Similarly, the Speaker of the House, Martin Chike Amaewhule, lauded President Tinubu. He called him a “compassionate father of the nation.” Amaewhule stated that Tinubu has kept his promises to the people of Rivers State.
The Speaker further pointed out that 39 sons and daughters from the state have been appointed to positions of trust. This, he explained, underscores President Tinubu’s confidence in Rivers indigenes.
Key Resolutions and Call for Second Term
Following thorough deliberations, the House resolved to fully support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This initiative aims to drive national development and prosperity.
Furthermore, lawmakers agreed to initiate grassroots sensitization and mobilization efforts. These actions are intended to strengthen public support for President Tinubu’s leadership.
The Assembly also encouraged the President to seek a second term in office. They insisted that Rivers State has witnessed “tangible gains” under his current administration.
