The Rivers State House of Assembly has expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. On Wednesday, lawmakers passed a vote of confidence in his leadership. They commended his style and contributions to the state’s development.
All 26 lawmakers jointly signed the motion leading to this vote. It was adopted during the Assembly’s 37th Legislative Sitting.
Commendation for Leadership and Development
The House noted President Tinubu’s dedication to inclusive governance. They highlighted his appointment of many Rivers indigenes to important federal positions.
Hon. Major Jack, the House Leader, spearheaded the debate. He lauded President Tinubu for maintaining policies that have boosted the economies of Rivers State and its local governments. Jack described the President’s leadership as fatherly. He noted that federal projects and strategic appointments are already benefiting communities throughout Rivers.
Speaker Martin Chike Amaewhule also shared his thoughts. He called President Tinubu a compassionate national father. Amaewhule stated that the President has kept his promises to the Rivers people. He highlighted that 39 indigenes from the state now hold federal positions of trust. This, he added, shows Tinubu’s confidence in Rivers people.
Call for a Second Term
After extensive deliberations, the House unanimously resolved to fully back the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Lawmakers also committed to grassroots sensitisation and mobilisation. Their aim is to build stronger public support for President Tinubu’s leadership.
Furthermore, the Assembly urged President Tinubu to consider a second term in office. They stressed that Rivers State has seen significant progress under his administration.
