Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, a regional chairman for the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi, shared a disturbing account. He detailed how some individuals he previously aided allegedly turned against his family. These actions were reportedly brutal.
A video, shared by Equipping the Persecuted on X (formerly Twitter), documented Dachomo’s claims. He explained his past generosity. He offered shelter to stranded individuals. He also provided food with his own money. Furthermore, he allowed them to use the church for prayer.
Allegations of Brutality
Despite his acts of compassion, Rev. Dachomo alleges these individuals committed horrific acts. He recounted personal tragedies with deep sorrow.
“I fed them in my home,” he stated. “They even prayed to Allah in our church.” Yet, he claims, “These very people killed my grandmother. They removed her heart.” He continued, “My uncle was also killed. His tongue was taken.” He added, “My best childhood friend, his wife, and their five children were all burned.”
Dachomo questioned the lack of reciprocity. “One side offers peace,” he explained. “The other side, especially from an Islamic view, rejects it.” He feels they refuse to coexist peacefully. “They lived in our village,” he recalled. “Then they attacked us without mercy. This led directly to my grandmother’s death.”
Ongoing Attacks and Land Seizures
These aggressions continue, he noted. This occurs even as local Christians consistently seek peace. He accused some Almajirai of exploiting Christian hospitality. They allegedly become tools for attacks against the same communities during times of crisis.
“They repeatedly raid our village,” he emphasized. “But we have never visited their Ruga area to carry out attacks on them.”
The cleric further reported extensive land seizures. Terrorists have claimed properties belonging to Christians. He highlighted that reporting these incidents often escalates into further conflict rather than resolution.
Call for Government Intervention
Rev. Dachomo appealed to the Senate Committee on Security. He urged them to act decisively. He seeks assistance for displaced Christians to return to their ancestral lands.
Silence is no longer an option, he insisted. He also cautioned people against denying the ongoing genocide in Nigeria.
