Reno Omokri supports President Bola Tinubu. He recently criticized Peter Obi. Obi was the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate. Obi commented on Nigeria’s growing insecurity. He questioned if the nation was “cursed.” This followed increased kidnappings, including school abductions.
Omokri Challenges Obi’s “Cursed Nation” View
Omokri dismissed Obi’s “cursed Nigeria” idea. He questioned a former presidential candidate making such negative remarks.
Omokri: Nigeria is Not Afflicted
In a detailed X post, Omokri asserted: “Nigeria is Not Cursed, As Peter Obi Claims!” He advised Obi to abandon superstitious thought.
Omokri argued against curses influencing national events. He suggested that if curses were potent, Obi would have faced significant backlash. This backlash would stem from Anambra residents’ anger. They accused him of poor performance during his eight-year tenure as governor.
Omokri also revived previous accusations. He claimed Obi focused on breweries and private financial endeavors. This occurred instead of building public schools.
Linking Insecurity to Support for Separatist Groups
The former presidential aide blamed Nigeria’s current unrest on “terrorists’ enablers.” He did not attribute it to curses. Omokri accused Obi of defending Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu leads the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Kanu’s trial and recent conviction have provoked strong reactions. Omokri argued that insecurity thrives when public figures back groups associated with violence.
Scrutinizing Obi’s Stance on Conflict
Omokri recalled Obi’s past statements. Obi condemned soldiers’ killings in Abia State. Yet, he also repeatedly stated, “IPOB are not terrorists.” Omokri questioned Obi’s consistency. He asked if Obi still denounced military attacks or endorsed Kanu’s agenda.
Omokri’s Mirror Analogy for Obi
Omokri concluded his message. He linked the nation’s recent security problems to “double standards.” He believes some leaders empower violent factions. He told Obi to “buy a mirror” to understand Nigeria’s insecurity roots.
