Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has responded to online critics mocking her ongoing marital challenges with estranged husband Ned Nwoko. The conflict gained attention after a viral video showed Daniels alleging domestic abuse, which Nwoko countered by claiming she needed rehabilitation for drug addiction.
The situation escalated when Daniels’ family accused Nwoko of detaining her brother Sammy West, reportedly demanding her return home and entry into rehab as conditions for his release. The actress has repeatedly appealed for public support, claiming Nwoko is determined to keep her brother imprisoned.
Some social media users criticized Daniels, referencing her past displays of luxury from her marriage. Addressing these comments via her Instagram Story, the mother of two challenged her detractors: “It’s okay to laugh and say ‘when she flaunted wealth, were we enjoying it?’ But nobody ever flaunts their sadness.”
Daniels emphasized how fear of ridicule prevents people from sharing their struggles: “You know why? Because of mockery. Unless you’re in my shoes, you’ll never understand. What did you expect me to show? That I was being beaten? That I was sad? No.” Her emotional response highlighted the complex reality behind curated social media personas.
