Professor Ritchard Wokocha is a public law expert at Rivers State University.
He states that Rivers State politicians who recently defected have now aligned with President Bola Tinubu.
These politicians joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wokocha made these remarks on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday.
He described the mass movement as a clear political shift within the state.
“Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his associates have decided to embrace the President,” Wokocha explained.
He added that they have done so “by joining the President’s party.”
Wokocha also clarified the position of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Wike remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
However, he currently serves within an APC-led Federal Government.
This situation, according to Wokocha, places all major Rivers political actors under one national leadership.
“The FCT minister may be in the PDP,” he said. “But he works under an APC government.”
He continued, “If the state structure has moved to the APC, it means they are together now.”
“They are under the same leader. They will not take different instructions from various directions.”
New Chapter for Rivers State Stability
The legal scholar observed that this alignment could open a new chapter for stability in Rivers State.
The state has faced months of significant political turbulence.
Wokocha believes this development “signifies a new possibility for peace and opportunity.”
He noted that all segments of Rivers’ political scene, once full of drama, are now aligned.
They show allegiance to one leader: the President.
Wokocha added that unifying these political power blocs may reduce intense internal conflicts.
He expects the state’s political scene to see less negative drama going forward.
