Singer Portable claims IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu received a N50 billion offer. This allegation surfaces amid Kanu’s sentencing discussions.
A Federal High Court in Abuja recently sentenced Kanu to life imprisonment. He was found guilty on all seven terrorism charges.

Kanu’s arrest occurred in 2021. Since then, he has remained in detention. He faced trial for several terrorism-related charges.
The court also imposed concurrent sentences. These included 20 and 5-year terms for additional offenses. All sentences run concurrently.
Portable’s Allegations Explored
In an online video, Portable made a significant claim. He alleged that Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu received a N50 billion offer. Portable stated, “The advocate for independent Yoruba Nation took the offer, but the Biafra advocate refuses to accept the offer and still insists on his people’s freedom.” This quote is attributed to Portable from the circulating video.
Kanu reportedly rejected this substantial offer. Igboho, however, purportedly accepted it.
Recent reports confirm Kanu’s relocation. He moved from the DSS facility in Abuja. He is now at a correctional center in Sokoto State.
Aloy Ejimakor, his lawyer, verified this transfer. He shared the information on the platform X.
Before Kanu’s court verdict, his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, faced arrest. His brother, Emmanuel, was also detained. Their detention followed protests demanding Kanu’s release.
Human rights activist Omoleye Sowore organized this protest. He also experienced arrest. Later, Sowore gained his freedom.
Sowore faced re-arrest shortly after. This was due to his remarks about the Inspector General of Police. He had referred to the IGP as a “goat.”
