Illegal Connections Uncovered
Upon his return, the man found all building units were drawing power from his meter. This made him liable for the entire compound’s electricity usage.
He felt shocked and frustrated. He called it a clear act of exploitation. The illegal hookup had run for weeks. This left him with unearned, accumulated charges.
Legal Action Promised
The angered resident indicated legal action. He stated that those responsible would surely face incarceration.
The man shared his frustration: “I returned to Port Harcourt. I found an illegal light connection. All apartments in my compound are linked to my meter. They have used my electricity since I left for Lagos. There will be no escaping jail for them.”
