Veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has publicly spoken for the first time since the tragic loss of her only son, Ayomikun. The grieving mother addressed weeks of speculation while announcing her return to acting.
After Ayomikun’s passing, rumors circulated about the cause of death. Family spokesperson Yemi Amodu provided official clarification: Ayomikun died following a brief illness in Ibadan and has since been buried.
Debunking Death Rumors
Amodu firmly denied social media claims suggesting a bathroom accident or domestic mishap caused the tragedy. He emphasized the family’s need for privacy during their difficult time.
Healing Journey and Comeback
Through an emotional Instagram post, Ogunmola shared her healing process: “A new month, a new dawn. The past months have been heavy. But your love, prayers, and condolences carried me through.”
The actress signaled her return to the entertainment industry: “Today I rise stronger, grateful, and ready to embrace my passion again. The screens have missed me… I’m back doing what I love most.”
Numerous Nollywood stars including Dele Odule, Ronke Odusanya, and Fausat Balogun visited the family’s Ibadan home to offer condolences. Ogunmola, daughter of late theatre legend Kola Ogunmola, now prepares to resume her acting career.
