The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled key figures including Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, and former National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu. This decisive action occurred during the party’s national convention at Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
Former PDP National Vice Chairman (South) Olabode George initiated the expulsion motion. He emphasized restoring discipline and unity within the party’s ranks. PDP Bauchi State Chairman Hon. Samaila Buga seconded the resolution.
In a sweeping restructuring move, the convention dissolved all executive committees in five states. Affected states include Imo, Abia, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers.
These developments mark a significant organizational shake-up. The PDP aims to consolidate its leadership ahead of future political challenges.
