The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dissolved all executive committees at ward, local government, and state levels in Imo, Abia, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers states.
This decision followed a motion moved by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde at the PDP National Convention in Ibadan. The motion was seconded by National Auditor Daniel Obiechina Okechukwu.
Governor Makinde explained the motion ratified elected executive committees. This applies to states where congresses concluded between 2024 and 2025. The congresses elected officers at ward, LGA, state, and zonal levels.
He stated the congresses followed electoral guidelines. They complied with the Electoral Act 2022 and PDP constitution. The processes were conducted freely and fairly across geopolitical zones.
The PDP’s National Executive Committee approved the congress outcomes. The National Working Committee also endorsed the elected officers.
The Convention specifically dissolved all structures in the five states. It authorized official publication of this decision as public notice.
