The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention Organising Committee has appointed former Ondo State gubernatorial candidate Eyitayo Jegede SAN as Chairman of its Screening Committee. This crucial panel will evaluate all aspirants seeking national offices ahead of the party’s 2025 Elective National Convention.
Scheduled for November 15-16 in Ibadan, the convention preparations enter a critical phase with the screening exercise set for Tuesday. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri confirmed the committee’s formation and timeline.
Screening Committee Composition
Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State will serve as Deputy Chairman, with Asue Ighodalo appointed Secretary. Jacob Otorkpa takes the role of Deputy Secretary.
Additional committee members include Emmanuel Enoidem, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chief Aduke Maina, Iyom Josephine Anenih, Achike Udenwa, Maryam Ciroma, Felix Hyat, Zainab Maina, and Chinedu Nwachukwu as administrative secretary.
Fintiri charged the committee with conducting their duties diligently. He emphasized this assignment’s importance to the party’s convention preparations.
“The NCOC expects exemplary conduct and strict adherence to regulations during this crucial assignment,” Fintiri stated. He added this would justify the party’s confidence in the committee.
