The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has pointed fingers at Governor Seyi Makinde. They accuse him of being solely responsible for the current challenges facing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Sadare, an APC chieftain, further remarked that Governor Makinde should focus on the PDP’s core mission. He urged Makinde to stop blaming President Bola Tinubu for the party’s misfortunes.
Sadare criticized PDP elders and leaders. He noted they failed to seek internal solutions. Instead, they allowed individuals like Governor Makinde to gain control of the party’s affairs.
He argued that Makinde lacks the necessary capacity and experience to lead a national party. Sadare described Makinde as the “final nemesis” that has consumed the PDP. He highlighted that Makinde is now the sole PDP governor in Southern Nigeria. The party retains only three or four governors across the entire North.
Sadare firmly believes Makinde cannot revive the PDP from its current ‘comatose condition.’
He questioned Makinde’s vision for the PDP. This is especially relevant, Sadare added, given that nearly all of Makinde’s gubernatorial colleagues have abandoned the party. He concluded by asserting that President Tinubu should be allowed to concentrate on his presidential duties.
