Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leaders have called on Governor Seyi Makinde. They urged him to begin preparing his handover note.
The youth leaders insist that residents are ready for new leadership. This change is anticipated ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Through their spokesperson, Aremu, the youth wing accused the current administration. They claimed it has stalled Oyo’s progress. This is due to poor governance and inefficiency.
Aremu stated, “The current government has held Oyo State in bondage. The people are tired.” He added that APC youths are ready to bring the political change the state urgently needs.
He warned the ruling party to prepare for its exit. The APC youth wing is getting ready to take charge of the state’s leadership.
Aremu emphasized that Oyo’s next development phase will be youth-driven. Emerging leaders are ready to offer a more progressive direction.
“The ruling party should prepare for its eventual exit,” Aremu declared. “Progressive young leaders are ready to assume responsibility.”
Internal Party Unity
Aremu also spoke on internal party dynamics. He noted the reconciliation between Senator Teslim Folarin and Adebayo Adelabu.
Senator Folarin is a former governorship candidate. Adebayo Adelabu currently serves as the Minister of Power.
Aremu called their reconciliation a major boost to the party’s unity. This renewed cooperation among top APC stakeholders signals a stronger, more cohesive front.
It positions the party well for the next election cycle.
Upcoming Youth Summit
Aremu further revealed plans for an upcoming APC Youth Summit. He said it would be pivotal in repositioning the party’s youth wing before 2027.
The summit aims to restructure party units. It will also mobilize grassroots support. Its goal is to foster alignment among young members behind a shared vision.
A comprehensive, youth-driven roadmap will be unveiled. This roadmap will include digital advocacy, political mobilization, and community engagement projects.
It will also feature issue-based campaigns. These are designed to reclaim Oyo State.
Young APC leaders are prepared to spearhead the transformation. This is needed to advance Oyo’s development, Aremu emphasized.
“The future of Oyo must be planned today,” he stated. This reaffirmed the youth wing’s commitment to shaping the state’s next political chapter.
