The All Progressives Congress (APC) committee for the Osun State Gubernatorial Delegate Congress has arrived. They are preparing for the party’s delegate congresses.
Chairman Sheu Umar Dange leads the committee. They visited the state party leadership on Tuesday, December 9. The meeting took place at the APC secretariat on Osogbo-Gbongan Road.
Pledge for Transparency and Fairness
Dange met with Osun APC chairman Tajudeen Lawal. Local government party leaders were also present. Dange stressed the committee’s commitment to transparency and fairness.
“We are ready to conduct delegate congresses,” Dange stated. These will happen in all 332 wards statewide. “Our activities will be unbiased,” he promised. “We welcome any complaints for fair resolution.”
He urged stakeholders to see their participation as vital. It contributes to the party’s electoral strength.
Smooth Process and Eligibility
Committee Secretary Chiedu Eluemunoh spoke next. He said mechanisms are in place for a smooth process. This includes deploying ad-hoc staff for ward congresses.
Eluemunoh clarified eligibility. Only revalidated APC members in Osun can participate. “Being a party member is not enough,” Eluemunoh explained. “Only revalidated members will vote.”
An Appeal Committee will also be available. It will handle complaints from aggrieved members. Sittings are set to begin on December 10.
State Leadership Support
Osun APC chairman Lawal welcomed the committee. He pledged the State Working Committee’s full support. This support aims to ensure their assignment’s success.
