Osogbo, Osun State – Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has officially joined the Accord Party. He declared his intention to seek a second term in office on this new platform.
The announcement took place at the Government House Banquet Hall. National and state leaders of the Accord Party were present.
Why Governor Adeleke Chose Accord Party
Governor Adeleke confirmed his membership, stating he joined the Accord Party on November 6th. This decision followed weeks of extensive consultations. He met with stakeholders and opinion leaders across the state.
“We are taking this important step,” Governor Adeleke explained. He noted that stakeholders and residents of Osun State understand his reasons. He aims for a second term to complete his ongoing projects. His administration has delivered good governance and democratic dividends. These efforts have received widespread acclaim, both locally and internationally.
He further clarified his choice. “We opted for the Accord Party,” he said, “because its mission of welfarism aligns with our passionate focus on citizens and workers’ welfare.”
A United Front for Osun’s Progress
Governor Adeleke warmly welcomed the party leaders. “You are now part of us,” he stated. “I am also now part of you.” He emphasized their shared goal: progress and good intentions for Osun State and Nigeria.
He called for unity as the 2026 elections approach. “Our task is to sustain a united front,” he urged. The administration has a duty to ensure inclusive leadership. This means caring for the interests of all groups. He believes the Accord Party is ready to govern Osun. It will sustain the delivery of good services in the state.
Since joining, Adeleke has been impressed by the party’s philosophy. He believes people’s welfare should be central to public leadership. “The primary essence of a government,” he asserted, “is the welfare and well-being of the people.”
As governor, he has prioritized citizens’ well-being. This includes both workers and the general populace. His team implements policies and programs daily. These initiatives aim to elevate the people’s quality of life. Osun State has seen significant improvements. This applies to infrastructure and social services alike.
Charting a Path to Victory in 2026
The governor presented this new platform to Osun residents. “From Osun West to Osun East to Osun Central,” he declared, “this is our party.” He sees it as their new path to victory in August 2026.
He rallied support from across the state’s diverse communities. He named areas like Igbomina, Ijeshaland, Ifeland, Osogbo, and Ede. “We must thumb up,” he urged. This collective action supports their shared desire for good governance.
Osun residents voted for good governance in 2022. Governor Adeleke believes they will support continuity in 2026. “The mass of our people are for continuity,” he stated. He affirmed that “Accord is our party for victory next year.”
In his conclusive remarks, the governor formally announced his allegiance. “In accordance with the will of our stakeholders,” he said, “and to accord deep respect for the wishes of Osun people, I hereby accordingly declare for the Accord Party.”
