Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji is the new APC candidate. He will contest the Osun 2026 governorship election. Oyebamiji previously chaired the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially affirmed him. A total of 1,660 delegates confirmed Oyebamiji’s candidacy. Mr. Kunle Adegoke, SAN, nominated him. Senator Babajide Omoworare then seconded the nomination.
Kunle Adegoke announced the affirmation. He is also a former governorship aspirant for the party. Adegoke explained that the APC National Working Committee made this decision. He added that other aspirants had stepped down for Oyebamiji.
Adegoke formally moved the motion during the event. He stated, “I, Kunle Adegoke, with the consent of all other aspirants, move the motion. Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji should be adopted as the consensus candidate. He will contest in the 2026 governorship election. I so move.”
Governor Monday Okpebholo then called for a voice vote. He chairs the primary election committee. All delegates unanimously affirmed Oyebamiji’s candidacy.
Governor Okpebholo made the final declaration. He stated, “By the power conferred on me as Chairman of the primary committee, I hereby declare Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, as the candidate of our party.”
