The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has once more denied reports. These reports claim the party has already picked its governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State election.
Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, released a statement on Sunday. He described the viral reports as false and misleading. Abdullahi noted that these claims are not from any official ADC communication channel.
Abdullahi strongly urged the public to disregard any videos or social media posts. Such posts falsely assert that the party has “picked” a candidate. He confirmed that the ADC flagbearer will emerge from a primary election. The party will conduct this exercise in due course.
The ADC has already released and widely publicized a timetable for these primaries. This timetable outlines the process to elect the party’s candidate for the 2026 governorship election in Osun. All aspirants are advised to strictly adhere to the released guidelines and instructions.
“For the avoidance of doubts, the ADC remains committed to the highest standards of internal democracy,” Abdullahi stated. He affirmed the party’s dedication to a free, fair, and transparent electoral process for all. This ensures fairness and credibility in selecting their candidate.
