Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is anticipated to secure the Accord Party’s governorship ticket today, Wednesday. He is widely expected to emerge as the party’s flag bearer. This is for the August 8, 2026, governorship election.
Speaking to supporters at the Government House in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke revealed he joined Accord on November 6, 2025. This decision followed weeks of extensive consultation and deliberation. He engaged with various stakeholders and opinion leaders across the state.
Adeleke stated, “I joined the Accord Party over a month ago, specifically on November 6. It serves as a platform to seek re-election in 2026. This move was made after weeks of consultation with stakeholders and opinion leaders.”
He further explained the rationale behind his important decision. “Stakeholders and residents of Osun State are fully aware of our reasons. We aim to pursue a second term on the Accord Party platform. This will allow us to complete the ongoing delivery of good governance and democratic dividends. These efforts have received applause both locally and internationally.”
The Governor highlighted the Accord Party’s mission as a key factor. “We chose the Accord Party because its mission of welfarism perfectly aligns with our passionate focus. Our administration prioritizes the welfare of citizens and workers.”
