Ekundayo Endorses Adeleke’s 2026 Re-election Bid
Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second-term ambition has gained momentum with the endorsement of Dr. Ademola Ekundayo. The former Action Peoples Party (APP) governorship candidate declared his support ahead of Osun’s August 2026 election.
Ekundayo made his commitment during a meeting with the Not Too Young To Rule (NTYTR) movement in Osogbo. The politician had contested the 2018 governorship race under the APP platform.
NTYTR National Coordinator Hon. Samuel Ogundairo stated their purpose was rallying youth support. He described Adeleke’s governance as “a compelling reason” for statewide mobilization.
“Our strategy consolidates youth backing for Governor Adeleke,” Ogundairo explained. “His visible achievements merit another term.”
Ekundayo pledged tireless efforts toward the governor’s re-election. He praised Adeleke’s policies since taking office.
“The governor’s programmes position him favorably,” Ekundayo stated. “I’ve directed supporters across party lines to back him. We’ll mobilize all 30 local government areas.”
The meeting included Ekundayo’s supporters and youth group leaders. It highlighted Ekundayo’s continued dedication despite past challenges.
Ekundayo referenced his violent attack during the 2018 rerun elections. He stressed this never diminished his commitment to Osun’s progress.
Despite the incident, he never sought appointments under Adeleke. Instead, he quietly supported the administration.
Ogundairo confirmed widespread approval from his statewide tour. He noted significant infrastructure and human development achievements.
“Our observations show remarkable accomplishments across Osun,” he concluded. “This justifies our solidarity with the governor.”
