The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set Tuesday, December 2, 2025, for its Osun State governorship primary election. This follows the successful completion of both ad hoc and national delegates congresses.
National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan, confirmed this. He stated the party formally notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This notification covered the timetable and primary preparations.
“The party reminds all stakeholders and the public about the scheduled primary,” the statement affirmed. It aims to elect the governorship candidate.
A full Electoral Committee is in place. It will supervise the primary election. The event starts at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. It will hold in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Delegate congresses took place on November 24 and November 29, 2025. Both were successful. They have now cleared the path for the primary election.
The PDP stressed adherence to party processes. This is not optional for aspirants. They are entering the final stage for the party ticket.
All governorship hopefuls must comply strictly. They should follow the party’s constitution and internal guidelines.
Shan also advised cleared candidates. They must conduct themselves by the party’s constitution. Any act of indiscipline will lead to sanctions.
