Galatasaray’s dream of pairing Victor Osimhen with fellow Nigerian star Ademola Lookman faces collapse due to financial barriers. Club insider Ali Naci Küçük reveals the Turkish champions cannot meet Atalanta’s valuation or the winger’s salary expectations.
“A transfer for Ademola Lookman is impossible,” Küçük stated on SkySport. “Atalanta demands €60 million. The player wants €9 million yearly wages. Galatasaray paid similar fees for Osimhen but won’t repeat this.”
Lookman’s future has been uncertain following a failed move to Inter Milan. Reports indicate Osimhen personally intervened. The Napoli legend reportedly urged his compatriot, “Come to Galatasaray and be happy here!”
After summer tensions with Atalanta’s management, Lookman was briefly excluded. He later featured as a substitute against Torino. He also started in the Champions League against Club Brugge.
The winger recently ended his scoring drought against AC Milan. Lookman netted a spectacular 35th-minute equalizer. He connected with Mario Pašalić’s clever pass, firing into the top corner.
This marked his first goal in seven matches. It contrasts sharply with last season’s form. Lookman previously scored 15 Serie A goals with five assists. He added five Champions League goals and two assists.
