Senator Adams Oshiomhole has strongly criticized former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi. Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, focused on decisions Amaechi made during his time in office.
Appearing on Channels Television, Oshiomhole claimed Amaechi displayed poor judgment. He also spoke of Amaechi’s misplaced priorities.
He highlighted Amaechi’s “terrible” decision to shut down the Rivers judiciary. This happened, Oshiomhole alleged, because Amaechi sought to appoint a biased individual as Chief Judge.
“Rotimi Amaechi is the most terrible,” Oshiomhole declared. He emphasized Amaechi’s choice of language and past actions. “He shut down Rivers’ judiciary for almost two years,” Oshiomhole added. This was reportedly because Amaechi couldn’t have his way regarding the chief judge appointment.
Oshiomhole further scrutinized Amaechi’s eight-year tenure overseeing the railway system. He accused Amaechi of failing to prioritize correctly. “He constructed a rail line to Niger Republic,” Oshiomhole stated. He questioned why it bypassed cities like Kano or Port Harcourt. “Which goods are we sending to Niger Republic?” Oshiomhole asked.
The Senator concluded by noting Amaechi’s ministerial role under President Buhari. He affirmed that Buhari granted his appointees significant autonomy. This implies Amaechi bore full responsibility for his decisions.
