Nigerian music sensation, Stanley Omah Didia, widely known as Omah Lay, has reacted to his inaugural Grammy Award nomination.
He received the prestigious nod alongside fellow superstar Davido. Their collaboration, “With You,” earned a spot in the Best African Music Performance category. This recognition is for the upcoming 68th Grammy Awards.
In a recent Instagram post, Omah Lay expressed happiness about the nomination. However, he clarified that awards are not his primary focus.
Despite his personal excitement, Omah Lay revealed his greatest desire. He stated his wish for Davido to win the coveted award. This sentiment stems from their deep friendship and the significant support Davido has offered him.
His post read: “I’m excited about this Grammy nomination, haha. But honestly, I don’t give a sh!t about awards. Yeah, but I really want it for OBO! He is the most genuine friend I’ve had recently. He stood by me during my toughest times.”
Davido has garnered four Grammy nominations previously in his career. He is still seeking his first win at the prestigious ceremony.
The 68th Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 1, 2026. It will be held at the iconic Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
