Social Media Reaction to Unforeseen PPA Action
The corps member, known as @barokahoyin on X, expressed her unawareness. She never knew PPA dismissal for corps members was possible. This development caught her completely off guard.
The Series of Events Leading to the Dismissal
She recounted the events. They received a request to report to the office with their PPA letters. Initially, she anticipated a positive outcome. Perhaps a December-related bonus from the organization. However, the situation unfolded differently.
“They actually just sacked all of us in my PPA. I didn’t know corps members usually get sacked. I hope we remain sacked till January ending, though. They asked us to come with our PPA letter this morning. I thought they wanted to give us something for December. Instead, they wrote ‘rejected’ on all our letters and stamped them,” she stated.
Public Response and Regulatory Questions
Her post quickly garnered significant online attention. Many Nigerians reacted in the comment section. Some offered sympathy. Others shared similar stories. Many questioned the legality of such dismissals. The precise reason for the termination remains undisclosed. This leaves many Nigerians questioning compliance with NYSC rules.
