Musiliu Akinsanya, National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) widely known as MC Oluomo, has stated he personally funded over ₦756 million for President Bola Tinubu’s 2023 election campaign.
The Lagos transport chief and longtime Tinubu ally made this revelation in a viral social media video. He emphasized that the entire amount came from his personal resources without financial support from Abuja.
“I spent ₦756 million of my own money during the campaign,” MC Oluomo declared. “No one from Abuja gave me any funds. I covered hotel expenses and supported all personnel working tirelessly for Asiwaju’s victory.”
Detailing his expenditures, the NURTW leader disclosed he booked 140 hotel rooms at ₦45,000 nightly for four months. He also provided daily allowances and logistics for Nollywood personalities and other campaign supporters.
According to MC Oluomo, these investments ensured effective mobilization and seamless coordination for Tinubu’s electoral success across Lagos and other states.
“I managed accommodation, feeding, and transportation for all campaign teams,” he explained. “This included entertainers and volunteers who joined our efforts.”
The transport union president reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu. He emphasized his continued commitment to the leader’s political objectives.
Preparations for 2027 Elections
MC Oluomo confirmed that groundwork has already commenced for the 2027 general elections. He pledged increased resource allocation to secure Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“We’re not resting,” he stated. “2027 approaches rapidly, and we’re actively working to ensure Asiwaju’s victory again.”
