Remo Stars’ Thrilling Turnaround
El Kanemi Warriors took a surprise lead in the 58th minute through Jonas Emmanuel’s header. The visitors had frustrated Remo throughout the first half. Victor Mbaoma hit the crossbar just before halftime. Olamilekan Adedayo and Adama Goita also tested El Kanemi’s goalkeeper.
With head coach Daniel Ogunmodede away on Super Eagles duty, assistant Sulaimon Kamil made attacking substitutions. The tactical changes paid off late in the game. Mbaoma equalized from the penalty spot in the 87th minute after being fouled in the box.
