The club entered this fixture without a win in three games. It was also their first match after coach Stanley Eguma’s departure. Despite this, the former champions displayed renewed intent and determination.
Enyimba controlled much of the game. Their efforts paid off when Chidera Michael scored the opening goal. He found the net just three minutes before halftime.
Stanley Dimgba further electrified the stadium’s atmosphere. He scored Enyimba’s second goal in the 81st minute. This gave the People’s Elephant a seemingly comfortable lead.
Rangers pulled one back in stoppage time. Kenechukwu Agu scored for the visitors. However, Enyimba held firm to secure their fifth league win. This victory moves Enyimba to 20 points from 15 matches. They remain mid-table but can now breathe easier.
