Rangers technical adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu has put an end to recent exit rumours. He insists he is fully committed to the Enugu-based club. Speculation about his departure circulated earlier this week.
Reports suggested a rift between Ilechukwu and some of his assistants. This led to talks about his future with the Flying Antelopes. The former MFM manager also serves as an assistant coach for the Super Eagles.
Speaking in Enugu, Ilechukwu quickly clarified the situation. He called the rumours “baseless.” He affirmed his intention to complete his contract with Rangers.
“All those things are not true,” he stated to journalists. “It’s not possible. I have a contract with Rangers. In all the clubs I’ve worked, I finished my contract. I’ve never been sacked anywhere.”
Rangers will host Bayelsa United this Sunday. The Matchday 16 fixture takes place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. The Coal City side aims to continue its push towards the top of the NPFL table.
