A Nigerian police officer recently ignited online debate. He openly declared support for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader. This occurred despite the officer not being Igbo.
A viral post by @general_somto on X (Twitter) shared his views. The officer discussed reasons for public difficulty in accepting certain truths. He stated his strong opinion.
He asserted, “Truth is often hard for people to accept. If an Igbo person does not support Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, they are not truly Igbo. Perhaps they originate from elsewhere. I declare this openly.”
The officer stressed his loyalty. It stems from belief in Kanu’s vision. His support is not tribal or ethnic. He described his support as genuine. It is also unwavering. His respect for Kanu’s principles and actions is profound.
He further added, “I am not Igbo, Hausa, Fulani, or Yoruba. Still, I support Nnamdi Kanu with my life and blood. He is a truly great man.”
His remarks quickly sparked social media reactions. Some users praised his courage. Others cautioned that such statements might incite ethnic tensions.
One commenter noted, “Non-Igbos now support him; what does this imply about us?” Another simply stated, “Respect! True loyalty transcends tribal lines.”
