Nollywood actor Taiye Arimoro has publicly questioned his recent suspension. He addressed the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), and the Association of Movie Producers (AMP).
The three prominent guilds released a joint statement. On Friday, they announced Arimoro’s suspension. This decision came after an altercation on a movie set. The incident involved his colleague, Peggy Ovire.
The Guilds’ Findings and Decision
A joint document, dated November 27, 2025, detailed the guilds’ review. Disciplinary committees had investigated the matter. They concluded that Taiye Arimoro was the primary aggressor in the incident.
Investigations revealed Arimoro assaulted the production manager and the driver. He also circulated a misleading live video. This video misrepresented the actual sequence of events. It falsely implicated producer Peggy Ovire. She was not present during the initial clash.
Consequently, the guilds made a unified decision. They suspended the movie star from all Nollywood productions. This suspension remains in effect until further notice.
The guilds outlined clear conditions for Arimoro’s reinstatement. He must issue a public apology. This apology is required for the production manager, Peggy Ovire, and the director. Additionally, he needs to release a corrective video. This video should accurately present the events.
Arimoro has also been directed to complete his remaining movie scenes. This must occur under supervised conditions. Furthermore, he must fully comply with any future instructions from the guilds.
Arimoro’s Instagram Response
In response to the suspension, Arimoro took to his Instagram story. He directly challenged the AGN, DGN, and AMP. He questioned the very foundation of their investigation.
He wrote: “Can someone please tell these ones to stop playing..? What was the basis of your investigation please..? Omo me, I think I’m in the mood for an IG live.”
