Nollywood actor Taiye Arimoro has openly challenged his recent suspension. He questioned the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), and the Association of Movie Producers (AMP).
Taiye Arimoro’s Suspension Explained
These three prominent guilds issued a joint statement. They announced Arimoro’s suspension last Friday. The decision followed an altercation on a movie set. Actress Peggy Ovire was also involved in the incident.
A joint document details the guilds’ findings. Dated November 27, 2025, it reviewed disciplinary committee reports. They concluded Taiye Arimoro was the main aggressor. He initiated the incident.
Arimoro reportedly assaulted the production manager and the driver. He also shared a misleading live video. This video misrepresented the actual events. It falsely implicated producer Peggy Ovire. She was not present during the initial dispute.
The guilds’ unified decision suspended the actor. He is banned from all Nollywood productions. This suspension remains until further notice.
Conditions for Reinstatement
Arimoro must issue a public apology. It should be directed to the production manager, Peggy Ovire, and the director. He also needs to release a corrective video. This video must clarify the true sequence of events.
He must also return to complete his movie scenes. These must be done under supervised conditions. Furthermore, Arimoro must fully comply. He is to follow any further guild instructions.
Arimoro Responds to the Guilds
Arimoro responded via his Instagram story. He questioned the AGN, DGN, and AMP directly. He asked for the basis of their investigation.
His post read: “Can someone please tell these ones to stop playing?” He added: “What was the basis of your investigation please?” Arimoro hinted at an upcoming Instagram Live session.
