Overview of the Abduction
A Nigerian woman took to social media to lament the alleged abduction of her mother and sibling while they were en route to their family farm in Ogun State.
She mentioned that she had communicated with both relatives shortly after they arrived at the farm, only to lose contact with them moments later.
In an emotional video that went viral, she recounted: ‘Yesterday, my mother and brother left for the farm ahead of me. Upon arrival, I chatted with my brother, spoke with my mother, and we even exchanged photos.’
Initially, she thought the silence was due to a poor network connection, unaware that something grave had occurred.
Later, she received a voice message from her mother stating that they had been seized, with kidnappers initially demanding ₦100 million before the ransom was allegedly reduced to ₦50 million.
She added that she has been unable to locate her brother and has no information about his current whereabouts.
“I noticed my mother’s alert pop up. She sent a voice note. This morning she called again, inquiring about the funds we have gathered. They are insisting on cash payment,” she said.
“When I asked about my brother’s location, she replied that she had not seen him, explaining that the captors had taken them to different places,” she continued.
The story has stirred sympathy across social platforms, prompting many Nigerians to urge security forces to act swiftly.
As of the latest update, the brother’s location remains undisclosed, and attempts to contact him have proven futile.
