Waje Shares Engagement News
Renowned Nigerian singer Aituaje Iruobe, professionally known as Waje, has announced her engagement. The 45-year-old artist revealed this milestone during a recent interview with Hip TV Lagos.
“I am actually engaged,” Waje confirmed. She did not provide additional details about her partner or wedding plans.
Relationship Standards and Past Struggles
During the candid discussion on The Honest Bunch podcast, Waje explained her current perspective on relationships. She stated that her age means she can’t wait for a financially struggling partner.
The singer also revealed painful personal history. She shared that her daughter’s father denied responsibility when she became pregnant as a teenager. He subsequently abandoned her.
Uncredited Contribution to P-Square Hit
In a significant career revelation, Waje disclosed she was the female vocalist on P-Square’s 2007 hit song “Do Me.” Despite her crucial contribution to the chart-topping track, she received no payment or official credit.
“I performed the chorus but wasn’t featured on it,” Waje explained during the HonestBunch Podcast appearance with Daddy Freeze. She discussed her early industry experiences and how her voice became part of one of P-Square’s signature songs.
Waje couldn’t appear in the music video because she lacked a passport during filming. The song later became her career breakthrough despite the lack of compensation. P-Square’s twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye famously separated in 2016 before briefly reuniting in 2021.
