A recent viral video featured Pastor Oloruntimilehin Daramola. He advised his church members. They should “get fortified.” This means protecting themselves from ongoing insecurity.
During a church assembly, the pastor spoke. He founded The Omnipotence Mission of God. He urged his congregation to “get fortified.” This protects them against attacks.
Pastor Encourages Self-Protection
The video showed the pastor in a purple robe. He wore a cap and a cross chain. He delivered his warning during this time.
He pressed his followers. They should adopt methods for defense. These methods would guard them from armed threats. He also called on the Federal Government. They should permit broader gun ownership.
The pastor mentioned Nigeria’s amalgamation. He suggested peaceful regional separation. This would happen if the current system failed. He then reiterated his call. Members should “get fortified.”
He instructed his congregation directly. “Members, take action for your safety. If armed individuals approach, they will encounter resistance. They will shoot each other instead of you.”
He continued his warning. “You could use bees to deter attackers. Or, if they near your church, they should die. They must not reach the premises alive.”
“Act on this now,” he stressed. “Every member must comply. Failure to do so means dismissal. I refuse to lose any of my flock.”
Cleric Justifies Controversial Advice
He maintained his stance. He cannot be protected if his followers are vulnerable. “I am a good shepherd,” he stated. “I will not stand by as my members perish.”
He recalled previous attacks. At a church in Owo, people invoked Jesus’ name. Jesus has saving power. But He said, “Until you reach heaven.” Kaduna churches were also attacked. Many called on Jesus. Yet, they died. Why? Jesus said, “We will meet in heaven.”
The pastor repeated his call for fortification. He claimed to have church branches globally. These include locations in America, London, and Nigeria. He invited individuals for private meetings. There, he would share “the right steps to take.”
He further added, “Call me the ‘charms pastor’ if you wish. I possess no special powers. However, if provoked, I will retaliate fiercely.”
He stood firm on his instructions. “Any member refusing these ‘charms’ will be expelled. I cannot permit my children to be killed. Not in my presence. Go, and be fortified!”
Escalating Insecurity in Northern Regions
Reports indicate recent kidnappings in Nigeria’s northern states. Victims include schoolgirls from Kebbi and Niger States. Worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, were also abducted.
