Nigeria’s gospel music community has launched an urgent fundraising appeal for acclaimed singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi. The artist faces a severe leg ailment that has exhausted her finances while requiring continuous medical care.
The campaign gained momentum after Omije Ojumi sought healing at G.F. David Ministries in Ibadan. Her condition continues to deteriorate despite spiritual intervention. Fellow gospel musician Lanre Alewilese spearheaded the public appeal through social media.
Alewilese shared an emotional Instagram video revealing Ojumi’s critical health situation. He disclosed her banking details while making a passionate plea for immediate assistance. “She really needs your support NOW!” Alewilese emphasized.
Industry-Wide Call for Unity
The musician called for unprecedented unity across Nigeria’s music genres. “I appeal to gospel, Juju, and Fuji artists alike,” Alewilese urged. “Let’s set aside religious differences to save Sister Bunmi Akinanu’s life.”
Alewilese expressed shock upon learning the severity of Ojumi’s situation. “I believed God had healed her,” he shared. “I didn’t realize she’s been hospital-hopping desperately.”
Prominent figures like Yinka Alaseyori, Olabest, and actress Foluke Daramola have amplified the appeal. They use social media to rally donations, prayers, and emotional support nationwide for the ailing gospel star.
