Nigerian actor and content creator, Odira Nwobu, has reportedly passed away. The news has sparked widespread shock across social media platforms.
Fellow content creator and blogger, Awuzie Frankline, first announced Nwobu’s death on Monday. He shared a video online, showing Nwobu lying motionless.
Frankline did not specify the exact circumstances. However, his social media posts hinted at the cause. He suggested Nwobu allegedly died hours after a night out. This reportedly occurred in South Africa over the past weekend.
Reacting to the tragic news, Frankline posted a series of emotional messages on Facebook. “God Why! ODIRA why leave us,” he wrote. “The call I received now was not a good one. #Odiegwu.”
He continued, expressing deep sorrow. “You were full of life even some hours ago in South Africa,” Frankline added. “You even had your thanksgiving service just a few months ago. Many people came to celebrate with you.” He questioned, “How can you return from South Africa lifeless? Honestly, I am drowning in tears. Death is rude. I am heartbroken.”
Comedian Evan Okoro also voiced his disbelief. He shared Nwobu’s photo with a simple yet poignant caption: “How? No, I can’t believe this. Nooooo.”
Just a few months prior, Nwobu had reportedly survived a ghastly car accident. A viral video from that incident depicted bystanders pulling victims from a severely damaged vehicle.
As of the time of this report, Nwobu’s family has not issued an official statement. They have yet to confirm his death or provide further details regarding the incident.
