During a live session of the ongoing worship event, Bassey disclosed he received divine guidance against monetization.
The minister acknowledged facing criticism for his decision. “People question why I didn’t monetize my YouTube channel,” Bassey stated. “I followed God’s clear instruction not to pursue commercial gain from this platform.”
Bassey also exposed fraudulent activities targeting his ministry. He lamented how criminals create fake accounts to rebroadcast his live sessions. “Some illegally stream content from my page solely for profit,” the artist revealed.
The Hallelujah Challenge began in 2017. This global phenomenon gathers thousands nightly. Participants join through Instagram and YouTube. It stands among Africa’s most influential Christian online events.
Fans have speculated about the program’s financial potential. Estimates suggest over ₦1 billion in ad revenue was possible. This is due to its enormous international following.
Bassey emphasized the initiative’s spiritual purpose transcends money. His non-monetization stance reflects obedience to divine direction. The worship event remains focused on faith, not financial gain.
