Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has provided an update on his son’s burial. He announced that the musician would be laid to rest immediately after the DNA test is concluded. In a trending online video, Aloba highlighted the DNA test as the primary reason for the delay in Mohbad’s interment. He confirmed that the family plans to proceed with the burial once the DNA results are finalized.
Aloba explicitly stated, “Today is the DNA court case. My lawyer is here, and I am telling the whole world that this is the most important thing. This is what has been delaying Mohbad’s burial. Once the DNA is concluded, we will immediately proceed with the interment.”
Wunmi Takes Legal Steps to Protect Estate
Meanwhile, Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, has taken significant legal measures. Her aim is to prevent any unauthorized claims or control over the singer’s estate. A letter from the law firm Salawu, Akingbolu & Co., dated November 19, 2025, confirms her actions. Wunmi has filed Form 5 and Form 6. These documents legally prohibit the issuance of Letters of Administration to anyone not recognized by law.
The correspondence, signed by I. P. Awo (Esq.), clearly identifies Omowunmi as the deceased’s legal wife. She is also the mother of his sole surviving child, Master Liam Aloba. Wunmi further explained that public notices were published in two national newspapers in November 2025. These announcements warned against “surreptitious or fraudulent attempts to claim the estate without proper legal process.” Her legal team emphasized that this notice is now part of court records. It will remain binding until the estate is formally and lawfully administered.
