Nollywood star Mercy Johnson has visited a police station in Abuja’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) seeking answers about the arrest of Sammy West, brother of fellow actress Regina Daniels. This development comes amid the ongoing marital issues between Daniels and her husband, billionaire Senator Ned Nwoko.
Sammy West was reportedly detained on Monday. Mercy Johnson publicly condemned the arrest, calling it “the worst form of injustice is pretended justice.” She expressed concern on social media about his treatment.
Mercy Johnson’s Public Outcry
Johnson questioned the circumstances on her platform: “A child was arrested, no one can or has been allowed to see him for two days. He was flown from Lagos to Abuja and allegedly taken straight to court from the airport. How did we get here? Nigeria…Wow.” She accompanied her statement with the hashtags #whereissamuel and #freesamuelojelagewu.
Police Station Confrontation
Mercy Johnson took her concerns directly to authorities. In footage shared by Regina Daniels, the actress is seen leaving a police station. Johnson revealed officers denied holding Sammy West in their facility.
She stated in the video: “I’m standing here now, he is not here. We’ve spoken to all involved officers, he’s not here. We’re proceeding to the FCT Command.” The video circulated widely on social media platforms.
