Fulham manager Marco Silva has addressed recent transfer speculation. He cooled talks about a permanent move for Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze. Silva stated both parties are in no rush to decide the winger’s future.
Chukwueze is currently on loan from AC Milan. He has quickly impressed fans and management in west London. His two goals as a substitute against Manchester City created significant excitement. This performance earned him a starting place in a recent match and fueled speculation about a permanent stay.
Silva Addresses Transfer Speculation
Reports had suggested Fulham might activate a buy option. However, Silva moved to calm expectations after Sunday’s match. He stressed that discussions about a full transfer would only happen at the right moment.
“A permanent deal? I don’t think it’s the right time to talk about it,” Silva said. “We have time to make that decision. We are relaxed about it, and so is he.”
The manager added, “He knows what he has to do. He must continue helping the team. At the right time, we’ll make the right decision.”
Chukwueze’s Impact and Manager’s Praise
Silva has been notably impressed by Chukwueze’s approach. The winger joined from Italy last year, after moving from Villarreal to Milan. He has displayed flashes of the quality that made him a highly-rated young attacker in Europe.
“He’s mature, has quality and is a creative player,” Silva commented. “We want to see more from him. He doesn’t have to prove his worth every game.”
Silva further explained, “He’s an international player. He comes from a big European club. He understands pressure. Beyond his qualities, he spreads good vibes. He’s a good guy and enjoys battling with us daily. It’s nice to see him always smiling. Then, when he has to work, he works.”
Winger Expresses Love for Fulham Fans
Chukwueze’s performances have also forged a strong bond with Fulham supporters. Speaking to the club’s media team, he confirmed that fan backing has boosted his confidence.
“The fans are amazing, I love them,” the Nigerian international shared. “They love me, but I think it is more me who wants them.”
He highlighted their unwavering support: “Even at 5-1 they continued to believe. They sang, they screamed, they pushed us a lot. I am happy with my current form. The most important thing is the coach who encourages me and keeps me on track.”
Chukwueze stressed his commitment: “Whether I play 10, 20 or 30 minutes does not count. I always have to give my best to help the team.”
Continued Impact in Premier League
Silva rewarded Chukwueze’s strong display against Manchester City. He named him in the starting lineup for their latest Premier League outing. Fulham suffered a defeat after a late Marc Guehi header at Craven Cottage. However, Chukwueze’s presence consistently offered a fresh attacking threat.
