An online conversation recently gained widespread attention. It featured a local man. He mended fences with a Fulani herdsman. He had previously turned the herdsman away. This happened during their first meeting.
An Apology and Friendship
The man approached the herdsman directly. He expressed his sentiments.
“Well done. I saw you three nights ago. You passed my window. I regrettably sent you away. Please accept my apology. I am not a confrontational person. Let’s be friends.”
The Fulani man, identified as Aliu, confirmed his origin from Kano. He stated no offense was taken. He understood the man had acted from unfamiliarity.
Public Reception
The exchange between the man and Aliu resonated deeply with Nigerians online. Many commended their peaceful resolution. They acknowledged the local man’s initial fear. This fear likely stemmed from rising insecurity across the nation.
@Omowunmi_omoleke questioned, “Why do they not raise cows locally? There is much empty land available for their use.”
@BignameIcon commented, “Clever move. He avoided a serious situation.”
@BigTee_002 added, “A peaceful chat would have been impossible otherwise.”
@Tess_idowu pondered, “How do they learn local languages so fast? They arrive and quickly converse with residents.”
