Lilian Adebayo, wife of the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) 2023 presidential candidate Adewale Adebayo, has made a bold declaration. She asserts her husband can unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. This victory, she claims, depends on Nigerians being truthful with themselves.
Adebayo highlighted her party’s resilience amid internal challenges. The SDP recently expelled its former chairman Shehu Gabam and other executives. She confirmed the party has overcome these crises successfully.
Call for Political Change
Lilian urged Nigerians to reject the APC in 2027. She cited the economic hardship inflicted on citizens under the current administration. Her message was clear: persistent support for failing leadership equals self-deception.
“He has a great chance of winning if Nigerians are honest,” she stated. “Those believing current leaders will progress Nigeria live in denial.”
SDP’s Internal Resolution
Addressing party stability, Lilian emphasized the SDP’s crisis management. “Every party faces internal issues,” she noted. “We’ve resolved ours completely after Gabam’s removal.”
The expelled chairman now faces scrutiny. SDP state chairmen recently called for investigations into Gabam. They urged EFCC and police to examine alleged financial misappropriation.
