Kwara United Football Club has confirmed Ashifat Suleiman as their permanent Technical Adviser, resolving the coaching vacancy left by Tunde Sanni’s departure. The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side announced the appointment on Wednesday following Suleiman’s interim leadership period.
Suleiman managed three matches during his temporary tenure, securing one victory, one draw, and one defeat. His tactical approach and dedication reportedly convinced club management to offer him the role permanently. The new technical adviser expressed gratitude for the trust shown in him.
“I am thankful for the confidence placed in me,” stated Suleiman. “Our team will continue giving maximum effort and improving collectively to achieve our season objectives with the Harmony Boys.”
Kwara United faces Rangers International this weekend at Enugu’s Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in their upcoming NPFL fixture.
Akwa United Receive Promotion Mandate
Meanwhile, Akwa Ibom State government officials have directed Akwa United to secure immediate promotion back to the NPFL. State Sports Commissioner Elder Paul Bassey issued the directive during an inspection visit to the team’s training camp in Eket.
“I’m impressed by today’s training quality – the energy, intensity, and commitment meet expectations,” Bassey remarked. “Akwa United belongs in the top division. Players must embody that mentality and fight relentlessly for promotion.”
The Promise Keepers are currently undergoing closed camping ahead of the new Nigeria National League season.
