A student from Kwara State College of Nursing in Oke Ode recently posted a viral video. It depicted a terrifying bandit attack outside her church. Her account and the graphic footage on TikTok have sparked widespread online discussion.
Early Reports of Bandit Infiltration
The student, identified as @quinnabiola on TikTok, reported initial rumors. She learned of bandits entering the Oke Ode community on September 27. “I shared this news on our school platform right away,” she stated. No immediate threats were visible. Still, she felt compelled to warn her classmates.
Worship Service Interrupted by Violence
The next Sunday morning, she believed the situation had settled. She prepared for church as usual. “I expected a peaceful service,” she recalled. “Instead, a different reality unfolded.”
Within twenty minutes of her arrival at 7:45 AM, gunshots erupted. “They were firing directly outside our church,” she explained. The congregation quickly secured all doors. However, generators remained active at the church’s entrance.
The church is positioned at the community’s entry point. This area is under development yet quite active. The gunfire persisted for approximately one hour.
Aftermath: Casualties Discovered
Once the gunfire ceased, she and the pastor’s family cautiously exited. “We saw two bodies on the main road,” she recounted. Further along the pathway, another deceased person lay near the church entrance.
The grim discovery deeply distressed her. She felt unable to stay in the vicinity. Reports confirm she and other students were evacuated to safety.
The Viral Video: A Harrowing Testimony
Her video features aftermath footage. It also offers a stark reflection on life’s sudden shifts. “Life is unpredictable,” she observed. “One moment you study for exams. The next, you flee for survival in Nigeria.”
This emotional narrative and the unsettling video generated significant online debate. Many Nigerians voiced fear, empathy, and anger regarding pervasive insecurity. The student’s compelling video is available on TikTok.
