Jennifer Odonwodo, widow of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, recently shared a unique financial practice from her marriage. While reviewing old photos, she discovered documented evidence of money-lending agreements between them.
The mother of three explained how they formalized loans through written contracts. These agreements specified borrowed amounts and repayment deadlines. To prevent disputes, they photographed each signed document.
“This discovery brought a wide smile to my face,” Jennifer wrote. “We signed agreements with clear terms and dates for repayment. Photographing the documents provided evidence if papers went missing or got damaged.”
She offered candid advice about lending to relatives. According to Jennifer, money loaned to spouses or family members has a 90% chance of never being returned. She prompted discussion by asking, “Do you lend money to loved ones or consider it a gift?”
Junior Pope tragically drowned in Anambra’s Anam River in April 2024. The accident occurred while traveling to film “The Other Side of Life.” His widow continues to honor his legacy through personal reflections.
