Lingard, an England international, joined the K League side as a free agent in February 2024. His final appearance for FC Seoul will be next Wednesday. He is scheduled to feature in an AFC Champions League match against Melbourne City.
During his time with Seoul, the 32-year-old forward made 66 appearances. He impressively scored 18 goals for the club. Lingard quickly became one of FC Seoul’s most recognizable foreign players, capturing the hearts of many fans.

FC Seoul’s official statement confirmed Lingard’s decision. He had informed the club of his desire to advance to the “next stage of his football career.” This led to the mutual agreement to part ways amicably.
