Popular Nigerian gospel singer Sola Allyson recently shared personal details about her marriage. She revealed that she does not reside with her husband.
During a candid interview on Oyinmomo TV, Allyson opened up. The 54-year-old artiste is celebrated for her album ‘Eji Owuro’. She confirmed she is still married, but she and her husband maintain separate residences.

Allyson stated plainly, “I’m married, but I’m not in my husband’s house. We live separately.” She spoke openly about her love life and marital journey.
Challenging the ‘Happily Ever After’ Narrative
In the discussion, Allyson reflected on her love life. She noted her success in music and relationships. Yet, she has not found the profound happiness often linked with love and marriage.
When asked about ‘Eji Owuro’ and if she experienced genuine love from her husband, Allyson gave an honest reply. She said, “We lied before. Our elders did not tell us marriage is tough. They made us believe love alone guarantees a happy ever after. That is a lie.”
Allyson further clarified that her reality diverged from common fairy tale expectations of marriage. “That’s not the experience I have,” she stated. “I didn’t have the experience of living happily ever after. I did all I could to make it work.”
