Former NPA MD Suleiman Omar Wins ADC Governorship Ticket for Adamawa 2027 Election
Suleiman Omar, former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, has been declared the ADC governorship candidate for Adamawa State in the 2027 election.
The announcement was made by Dr. Nicholas Msheliza, chairman of the ADC Governorship Primaries Committee, after votes from the state’s 21 local government areas were tallied.
Omar secured 143,216 votes, outpacing his closest rival Hammantukur Modibo, who received 56,801 votes, while Umar Suleiman Uba garnered 20,343 votes.
The committee formally declared Omar as the party’s official candidate for the upcoming election.
Before this political move, Omar served as Nigeria’s ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo and led the Nigerian Ports Authority.
In a related development, ADC presidential aspirant Mohammed Hayatu-Deen said he would ignore the party’s election results announcement.
